The Aardman 50p was made only for collectors, so its price rests on packaging and condition. A coin in the Royal Mint pack sells above one sold unpackaged or in a third-party certified pack, and scratches or toning pull it down. The colour edition, with its issue limit, is valued separately from the plain coin.

The 50 Years of Aardman 50p was not issued for circulation, so it has no rarity rank.

Five characters arranged around the Aardman logo and its star, reading AARDMAN 50 YEARS!, give this coin away: Morph, Feathers McGraw, Gromit, Wallace and Shaun the Sheep. The Wallace and Gromit 50p of 2019 is a different coin, showing only the pair looking out of a rocket porthole with the Latin words CASEUS PRAESTANS. The limited colour edition has the design printed in colour, while the standard coin is plain metal. Every version carries King Charles III on the obverse, and none went into circulation.

Aardman has spent fifty years turning modelling clay into some of Britain's best-loved characters, from the early antics of Morph to the adventures of Wallace and Gromit and the farmyard comedy of Shaun the Sheep. The Royal Mint marked its 50th anniversary with this coin, made in partnership with Aardman, which is credited with the design. Instead of a single scene, the reverse gathers a cast of favourites around the coin: Morph at the top, Feathers McGraw at the upper right, Gromit at the lower right, Wallace at the lower left and Shaun the Sheep at the upper left. At the centre sits the Aardman logo with a star, reading AARDMAN 50 YEARS! A colour edition with an issue limit was sold beside the plain coin. Its obverse shows King Charles III, modelled by Martin Jennings.
