Mrs Tiggy-Winkle was among the characters picked for the 2016 Beatrix Potter 50ps, the coins The Royal Mint struck to mark a century and a half since Potter was born. In The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle she is a hedgehog who works as a washerwoman. Potter drew on two real models for her: a hedgehog she kept as a pet, and Kitty MacDonald, a washerwoman from Scotland. Emma Noble, an engraver at The Royal Mint, took the figure from Potter's illustrations and placed her in the middle of the coin in her dress and petticoat, with the name MRS. TIGGY-WINKLE set above her. Noble's initials appear as en. with a full stop after them. The heads side carries the year and the Queen's fifth coin portrait, by Jody Clark. Besides the cupro-nickel coin made for circulation, the design was produced as a coloured silver proof for collectors.
It was one of the five coins in the Beatrix Potter set issued in 2016.
