The Star Wars Millennium Falcon 50p, dated 2024, opened the Royal Mint's Star Wars vehicles series with Han Solo's ship flying through space. It was sold to collectors and is not found in change. It is one of the eight Star Wars 50p coins and one of the 172 50p designs struck since 1969.

There are no circulation strikes of the Millennium Falcon 50p, so the coins on the market are brilliant uncirculated examples, and those kept in their original Royal Mint packs sell best. Scratches on the ship or the lenticular window reduce value on a loose coin. The colour edition, available only from The Royal Mint, is priced separately, as are the silver and gold proofs.

The Millennium Falcon fills the design on its own, with no characters in sight. Tilt the coin and the panel above it shows the Rebel Starbird and then a small Falcon icon. The Han Solo and Chewbacca coin shows the ship's captain and co-pilot rather than the ship. Among the other vehicle coins, the TIE Fighter and Death Star II show Empire craft and the X-Wing shows the Rebel starfighter. It is a collector coin, not a circulating one.

Star Wars Millennium Falcon 50p design
After the four character duos, The Royal Mint turned to the craft of Star Wars for a second 50p collection in 2024, and the Millennium Falcon led it. The Corellian light freighter flown by Han Solo and Chewbacca was reproduced for the coin as a film-accurate image drawn from Lucasfilm's official library, and Lucasfilm Ltd. is credited with the design. The ship soars across open space, with the STAR WARS logo set in two lines underneath and the small copyright and trademark credit. A lenticular panel above it flips between the Rebel Alliance Starbird and an icon of the Falcon itself. The King's portrait on the other face is by Martin Jennings. The coin came as a brilliant uncirculated 50p and in a colour edition sold only by The Royal Mint, and it was also struck as silver and gold proofs in several sizes. It was followed by the TIE Fighter, the X-Wing and the Death Star II.
It was one of the five coins in the Star Wars set issued in 2024.
