The Gruffalo 50p was the first UK commemorative coin to feature Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's monster, issued by the Royal Mint in 2019 for the book's twentieth anniversary.

The Gruffalo and Mouse 50p is the second of the Royal Mint's two 2019 Gruffalo coins and the first to put both characters on a coin together.

The Gruffalo's Child 50p marks twenty years of the Gruffalo sequel and is the first Gruffalo coin with King Charles III on the obverse.
